"This is a wonderful motel. We stayed here in July 2019. It's clean, stylish, and convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful. But, DO NOT PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE THROUGH THEIR VENDOR, RED SKY. The motel manager was gracious and reasonable enough to refund my reservation (Covid travel ban reasons, this year) when the scam artist travel agency would not. The only thing this motel should do differently is read the Red Sky Google reviews and cut ties with them. Otherwise, this motel can't be beat."

"I am so glad to report that the See Sea is back!!! Growing up in the late 60's-70's, the highlight of the summer for me and my sibs was spending a week in OBX at the See Sea Motel. With such beloved childhood memories rooted there, it was sad to witness it fall into disrepair/neglect over the years/decades. The recent renovations compelled me to spend a weekend there for old times sake. It was SO worth it! I love the retro vibe as it harkens back to my childhood vacations at my beloved See Sea. <3 My room was impeccably clean. Staff was excellent and friendly. Thank you for bringing this jewel of OBX back to life!!!!"

"The rooms were decorated so nice and the room was super clean!!!! The location was perfect you are walking distance from the beach, shops, and restaurants. The pool was very nice and not crowded at all. The check in process was so simple and easy they email you the room number and your code and tell you what time check in is. We were very satisfied with our stay and so were the kids. The only flaw was the parking was extremely tight and it would’ve been nice if the parking spots were numbered according to the room that way if people with one room have multiple cars they don’t park in a spot to someone else room. But overall loved our vacation would definitely stay again and would recommend this motel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in nags head."

"I really like the check-in/out procedure, it was fast and easy! However, their check-in time is 3pm and we waited over an hour before our room was actually ready due to the Covid-19 cleaning procedures. They did apologize and offer a discount. The room was extremely clean, recently updated, cozy and included amenities we enjoyed. The parking is VERY tight! We were glad we didn't drive our truck! The location was convenient with easy access to the beach. We will definitely stay there again."

"1920s motel that has been completely remodeled. Very quient. Rooms are nice close to the beach access. Grills picnic tables and corn hole games. Parking can be tight but worth it."

"I was actually really skeptical of this place because I never stay in motels and avoid them. This place looked really cute online, so I took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and updated this motel was. The room was adorable and clean. The motel itself was very well kept and modern. The pool was a great amenity and there is a back lounge area with picnic tables, grills, and corn hole. The walk to the beach was sooo easy and close. We couldn’t hear our neighbors at all! I will say to be aware if you book a room with just a bed and a bathroom. It was very small, but it does the job. It was kind of challenging not to have a table or anywhere to sit except the bed. You know what you’re signing up for when you choose a room. Just something to consider :)"

"Great place to stay for a short stay. I'm very noise sensitive and when in the room we heard nothing from outside. Noise is the #1 reason I hate hotels. The room was better decorated than any mid-range hotel I've ever stayed in. The bed was good, AC worked great (gets all the humidity out if you don't keep opening the outside door), clean shower and bathroom. Beach public access is right across the street, and plenty of places to get to walking, if you can handle walking for more than 5-10 minutes. The people complaining in reviews likely did not know what type of reservation they were making. Don't pay attention to the whiny reviews you may read. This is a motel (nice motel at that), not the Hilton. If you're also the type that books based on price and do NOTHING else to see what you are booking, then you likely have numerous challenges in your life and probably find "issues" anywhere you go. There is lots of parking, it's tight, but there is a lot. If you do google maps satellite view, the pic is old. The lot has been lined to create lots of parking spaces. There are a BUNCH in front too to the northeast side of the property. DO NOT try to drive a truck through the lot. I found this the hard way. I thought 'large vehicle' meant at least a 250/350 or 2500/3500, but it means anything over mid-side SUV. Don't try your Commander or Suburban either. This is a motel. The instructions in email are very clear and easy to follow if you do this thing called reading and do it before you arrive, not first read it once you arrive. If you stay here for a few days, it's great. If you're using this for a week, you are using the motel wrong. Take that money you want to spend for a week, find another family you can tolerate, and rent a house. I was annoyed to look at what I paid to book in advance, and then saw I could have saved $70 if I waited until the day of my trip to book....but that is not their fault."
